Koorosh Olyai, P.E. is a Senior Principal with Stantec and has 35 years of experience in planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and management of highway and public transportation facilities including HOV, HOT and Managed Lanes as well as Traffic Engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems. Prior to joining Stantec in 2013, he was DART's Assistant Vice President for Planning & Development where he implemented, operated and maintained agency’s 84 miles of HOV and Managed HOV lanes, and led the development and launch of the US 75 Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) including Texas’s first 511 traveler information system. Presently, he is Chair of the US TAG and Head of US Delegation to International Standards Organization Technical Committee 204 (ISO TC 204) for Intelligent Transportation Systems and serves as Convener of Working Group 8 for Public Transportation and Emergency Services. Previously, he was Chair of US Working Advisory Group 8 to ISO TC 204 WG8. Graduate of University of Minnesota in Civil Engineering, he is a Licensed Professional Engineer and serves on the Advisory Boards of the Texas Southern University and the University of Texas in Arlington. He has been recognized by FHWA, TRB, ITS Texas, featured in CNN’s Science & Technology and recipient of 2013 ITS Texas Award for his leadership of the US 75 ICM Program. He is a member of APTA, ITE, ITS America and TRB.
