Community-event programming is an excellent means of enriching the public while increasing facility revenue and providing active historical experiences that benefit all age groups. Offering community engagement in facility programs extends the opportunity for buy in from the public. Participants will develop a benefits assessment of their community and how an event or program can be advantageous to patrons of an aging facility.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will be given multiple techniques to assist in community programming needs and historic site requirements, while developing practical approaches to program execution and sustainability.
Workshop participants will receive information on how to tap into local historical resources for facility maintenance, program development, execution, grant information and funding.
Workshop participants will receive information on facility needs for successful event programming and rentals, and how this information can be used in program development.
