Communities have diverse voices with different needs, but what if only the "usual suspects” show up to a neighborhood meeting? Learn about the engagement process and innovative and practical techniques to identify community needs and establish or strengthen long-term relationships and partnerships. Attendees will participate in a community engagement demonstration to uncover bias, encourage patrons to see through a different lens, and discover needs you may not know existed.

Explain engagement strategies and how they can establish public and private relationships and identify community needs.
Discuss tools and techniques to engage communities which participants can apply to future projects when seeking unheard voices.
Create an engagement strategy by participating in a demonstration to meet the needs of the community being served.
