About This Session
Nearly 100,000 student veterans earn college degrees every year, and they represent an under-leveraged, deep talent pipeline. To better understand student veterans, James Schmeling will take a deep dive into the results of the National Veteran Education Success Tracker (NVEST) study completed by Student Veterans of America (SVA) with collaboration from the National Student Clearinghouse and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. During this study, NVEST examined the education outcomes for all Post-9/11 GI Bill users from 2009 through 2015–which totaled nearly 1 million students–and Schmeling will share the results on veteran student success rates, degree attainment, areas of degrees, student demographics and other information on high-performing student veterans.
