Stop by Registration Desk I or II and/or the hospitality desk on the 5rd floor to ask an NASN staff member or Pennsylvania school nurse host volunteer. Feel free to ask questions of our officers and directors on the board too. You can identify everyone by the information on their conference badge and/or conference ribbons.
Refresh Your Mobile App
To be sure you have the most up-to-date information in your app, refresh each morning. Select Event Details and then Settings. Look for the refresh icon and select it.
NASN has purchased access to a limited amount of wireless Internet bandwidth within the conference meeting space (meeting rooms, foyers, registration area, and exhibit hall) intended only for light web browsing, web-based emailing and messaging, and use of the mobile app. Select Marriott-CONFERENCE as your wireless network. Open your browser. Agree to terms. Enter nasn2015 as the Access Code. Click Submit.
NOTE: If your device is inactive for 15 minutes or if the device goes into sleep mode, the connection could drop. If this happens, repeat steps 1 through 5 to re-connect.
Cell Phones and other Mobile Devices
NASN encourages you to bring your mobile device with you. However, it is very important that respect for other attendees is maintained. Remember to turn off your cell phone ringer and never take telephone calls inside session rooms.
Be sure to check your email while at the conference. Other attendees may be emailing you through the attendee directory.
When you arrive at the conference hotel, stop by the Conference Materials Pickup desk to pick up you badge. Name badges must be worn for admittance to all events. Your name badge is proof of registration. Without it, you may not be allowed to participate in conference activities.
Seating is available on a first-come/first-served basis, so you do not have to let NASN know which sessions you plan to attend. This practice allows all attendees an equal opportunity to attend the session(s) of their choice. Please note that seating is limited to the capacity of the meeting room and capacity varies for each session. Please arrive early to assure a seat. Room capacity for each session will be listed in the conference program.
Tickets are only required for admittance to preconference and other noted events. Please refer to the event description for specific ticket requirements.
An index of handouts is published on the NASN2015 event website. A link to handouts for each session is provided in the schedule of this app. [NOTE: You must login using your NASN website login the first time you access session handouts.]
For those attendees who purchased the plastic coil spiral bound syllabus when you registered, please make sure to pick up your copy at the Conference Materials Pickup Desk. For those who did not purchase a copy with their registration, there may be a limited number available onsite to purchase. Please purchase a syllabus at the Attendee Service Desk. Conference Syllabus: $30.
You will receive Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours for the conference sessions that you attend. According to the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC) guidelines, 60 minutes = 1 contact hour. You may earn up to 20 contact hours for full participation in the four-day Conference. Additional contact hours can be earned for attendance at the preconference sessions.
National Association of School Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).
Online Evaluations and Certificates of Completion
A completed evaluation and attendance for the entire session are required for contact hours to be awarded and to ensure quality feedback. Please complete evaluations as soon as possible after the event. Visit the cyber cafe in Meeting Room 405 to complete evaluations at the conference OR complete them on your own laptop or tablet. You can also complete evaluations when you return home. Find instructions in your conference materials and on page 7 of the conference program.
